Retiree Network Events Calendar – March 2017

Wednesday, March 8th, 1:00 p.m. February Happy Lunch: We’re returning to one of our favorite lunch venues this month. Please join us at Gracie’s at the Hotel Deluxe (729 SW 15th, Portland – free valet parking available). As usual, we’ll need to make a reservation, so please RSVP by Monday, March 6th. Thursday, March 16th: February Art & Conversation, Portland Art Museum: This month’s topic has not yet been announced. (You can check the ‘calendar of events’ on the PAM website for more information as we get closer to the date.) As usual, coffee at 9:15 a.m.; lecture at 10:15am. This series is free for adults 62 and over.

Sunday, March 19th: In the Heights, Presented by the PCC Sylvania Visual and Performance Arts & Design department at the Sylvania Performing Arts Center. In the Heights music and lyrics by Tony Award winning Lin Manuel Miranda before his smash hit Hamilton. The Retiree Network is not coordinating ticket sales for this presentation but a number of your fellow retirees will be attending this matinee performance, come join us. Wednesday, March 22nd, 11:30 a.m. Pinot & Prose Book Club: Our March reading selection is the fascinating behind the scenes look at the medical disaster that killed President James Garfield – Destiny of the Republic by Candice Millard at Walter Mitty’s Restaurant.

Sunday, June 25th, Portland Center Stage Presentation: The Pianist of Willesden Lane. The Retiree Network has arranged for a limited number of group tickets for this matinee presentation on the play based on the book The Children of Willesden Lane which we read in November 2016. Some of us saw this production last season at PCS, which was so well received it is being brought back for a limited engagement in June. Tickets are $37.50 per person and must be purchased well in advance. Please RSVP to Jerry Donnelly for further information.
