Wednesday, February 8th, 1:00 p.m. February Happy Lunch: Since the winter storm kept us from meeting at Milo’s City Café in January, we decided to go there for this month’s lunch. Milo’s City Café is located at 1325 NE Broadway, Portland – just north of Lloyd Center. And, we will follow up lunch with a late matinee movie! You can join us just for lunch or just for the movie or both! Please RSVP by Monday, February 6th and indicate whether you will join us for lunch or the movie or both. *Wednesday, February 8th, 3:15 p.m. February Special: Matinee Showing of “Hidden Figures”: The movie version of our book selection for February is showing at the Regal Lloyd Center Theaters at 1510 NE Multnomah, Portland. That’s just a few blocks south of our lunch location. Senior matinee tickets are $9.25; the movie running time is 2 hours/7 minutes.
Thursday, February 16th: February Art & Conversation, Portland Art Museum: This month’s topic has not yet been announced. (You can check the ‘calendar of events’ on the PAM website for more information as we get closer to the date.) As usual, coffee at 9:15 a.m.; lecture at 10:15am. This series is free for adults 62 and over.
*Friday, February 17th, 9:00 a.m. Special Retiree Network Event: Discussion of the 2017 Oregon Legislative Session with State Senator Michael Dembrow. Michael has accepted an invitation of the Retiree Network to join us for a conversation about the current legislative session and other hot topic political current events. We have reserved a conference room at PCC’s Downtown Center (722 SW 2nd Avenue, Portland) for this event. We’ll meet in Room 319, but be sure to check-in at the front desk in the lobby. Note: there are no food services at the Downtown Center but you can pick up coffee at multiple locations within a block or two of the Downtown Center. **Sunday, June 25th, Portland Center Stage Presentation: The Pianist of Willesden Lane. The Retiree Network has arranged for a limited number of group tickets for this matinee presentation on the play based on the book The Children of Willesden Lane which we read in November 2016. Some of us saw this production last season at PCS, which was so well received it is being brought back for a limited engagement in June. Tickets are $37.50 per person and must be purchased well in advance. Please RSVP to Jerry Donnelly for further information.
