Sunday, June 12th, 9:00 a.m. Zero Prostate Cancer walk. The Retiree Network is forming a team to participate in the 1k riverfront walk from Elizabeth Caruthers Park to Downtown Portland. Note the starting location is NOT Willamette Park as reported last month, but Elizabeth Caruthers Park (3508 SW Moody Ave, in the South Waterfront District). Thursday, June 16th, 9:15 a.m., Art & Conversation, Portland Art Museum’s monthly event. This month’s topic is “Reflecting on the NW Art Collection”, coffee in the Fields Ballroom, (1st Floor, Mark Building), followed by the program at 10:15 a.m. in the Whitsell Auditorium, Lower Level, Main Building. The featured presenter is Bonnie Laing-Malcomson, Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Curator of Northwest Art. This monthly event is free to adults age 62 and over.
Saturday, June 18th, Association of Northwest Landscape Designers’ (ANLD) 11th Annual Garden Tour. Proceeds from this annual event benefit the ANLD scholarship program for aspiring landscape designers attending Clackamas CC and Portland CC. Tickets may be purchase at the ANLD web site or many Portland area nurseries for $25. For a listing of ticket locations or to purchase on line check out the ANLD web page. Since these are gardens at private residences of ANLD clients, the specific locations of the gardens and a map are made available once you have purchased tickets.
