Retiree Network – December 2015 events

Once again, due to the holidays this month, we will have limited Retiree Network events in December. There will be no book club discussion session nor a business meeting. So, please come join us for lunch!

Wednesday, December 9th 1:00 p.m.:  Lunch!  We will return again to Gracies’ at the Hotel Deluxe (formerly The Mallory Hotel) for lunch on December 9th. Valet parking is available. We will need a count for the table reservations, so please reply to the emailed version of this message with your RSVP by Monday, December 7th.  (If you aren’t on our emailing list, RSVP using the ‘comment’ button below.)

Thursday, December 17th:  Art & Conversation – Portland Art Museum:  Stephanie Parrish on “Fallen Fruit”, in conjunction with the exhibit ‘Paradise: Fallen Fruit’, at the Portland Art Museum. Art & Conversation is free for seniors the third Thursday of every month. Coffee and conversation starts at 9:15 a.m., followed by a lecture at 10:00 a.m.

Coming in January:

Wednesday, January 20, 2016, 10 a.m.: Lunch-n-Learn: Leaving a Legacy. This is a PCC Foundation event in conjunction with the Senior Studies Institute. The focus of this session is to assist seniors with thinking ahead and planning for the event we all tend to avoid talking about. The Foundation staff who attended our October meeting wanted to emphasize that this is not a fund raising event, but is offered as a way to provide useful information for advanced planning.

Wednesday, January 27, 2016, 11:30 a.m.: Pinot & Prose Book Club. Our January selection is “All The Little Live Things” by Wallace Stegner. Our January Business Meeting will follow at 1:00 p.m. both at Walter Mitty’s.
