Retiree Network Events – November 2015

Because our regular November happy lunch, book club and business meeting dates coincide with the Veteran’s Day holiday (11/11) and the Wednesday before Thanksgiving (11/25), we are changing the schedule for this month. We will have only one gathering for the book club discussion followed by lunch and the business meeting on Wednesday, November 18th.

Saturday, November 7, 2015, 2:00 p.m.: PCC Sylvania’s fall theater production of Usagi Yojimbo. Staging of this production at PCC is the American premier of this adaptation from Stan Sakai’s Usagi Yojimbo, loved by comic book readers across the globe for over 30 years. This 90 minute epic play follows the young rabbit, Usagi, as he seeks his own true path to become a Samurai. (Appropriate for ages 7 and up.) The Foundation has reserved tickets for PCC retirees who RSVP’d by October 30th. For those who cannot attend the November 7th date other shows will be presented on:   7 p.m., Friday Nov. 6th, 11 a.m., Thursday Nov. 12th,  7 p.m., Friday Nov. 13th, 7 p.m., Saturday Nov. 14th (sign language interpretation available),  1 p.m., Sunday Nov. 15th.

Wednesday, November 18th, Pinot & Prose Book Club, 11:30 a.m. at Walter Mitty’s. Our book selection for November is Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption by Bryan Stevenson.

Wednesday, November 18th, Monthly Retiree Network business meeting, 1:30 p.m. at Walter Mitty’s.

Thursday, November 19th, Art & Conversation: Portland Art Museum, 9:15 a.m. coffee; lecture at 10:00 a.m. The topic this month: Mike Murawski on The Center for Contemporary Native Art
