Wednesday, June 10th, ‘Bishop’s Close’ garden tour: Officially The Garden at Elk Rock, Dick Hollenbeck will lead this tour at 11:00 a.m. Following the garden tour our monthly ‘Happy Lunch” will be held at Petit Provence in Lake Oswego at 1:00 p.m.
Parking at the garden site is very limited, so our plan is to meet at 10:30 a.m. at the restaurant (which is located in the Lake Grove shopping Center (16350 Boones Ferry Road, Lake Oswego) and has ample parking- for a map click here). We will form car pools and depart from the restaurant at 10:45 a.m. and return there following the garden tour.
Because we need to make reservations, please RSVP using the ‘comment button’ below this monthly events posting or by replying to the monthly event email message. We will need your RSVP by 5:00 p.m. Saturday, June 6th. Please let us know if you intend to attend only the garden tour, only the lunch, or both.
Thursday, June 18th, Art & Conversation: Portland Art Museum, 9:15 a.m. lecture at 10:00 a.m. The topic will be Gods and Heroes: Masterpieces from the ‘Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Paris. The presenter will be Dawson Carr, PhD, The Janet and Richard Geary Curator of European Art. This coincides with the opening of the Gods and Heroes exhibit at the museum. Art & Conversation occurs monthly on the third Thursday and is free for adults 55 and over.
Saturday, June 20th, Association of Northwest Landscape Designers’ (ANLD) 11th Annual Garden Tour. Proceeds from this annual event benefit the ANLD scholarship program for aspiring landscape designers attending Clackamas CC and Portland CC. Tickets may be purchase at the ANLD web site or many Portland area nurseries for $25. A listing of ticket locations or to purchase on line check out the ANLD web page. Since these are gardens at private residences of ANLD clients, the specific locations of the gardens and a map are made available once you have purchased tickets.
