Retiree Network Events — November 2014

NOTE:  Due to the Thanksgiving Day and Christmas holidays, our regular meeting dates will be changed for the next two months. The Pinot & Prose Book Club and Monthly Business meetings will be held on Wednesday, November 12th at our regular times and location. There will be no November Happy Hour.

November events:

Nov 10th, 5:00 p.m. Deadline to RSVP for tickets to NW Senior Theatre’s Holiday Harmonies on November 19th.  (See November 19th below for details.)

Nov 12th, Pinot & Prose, 11:30 a.m., Walter Mitty’s.  Discussion of Zealot, The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth by Reza Aslan.

Nov 12th, Business Meeting, 1:00 p.m. Walter Mitty’s.

Nov 19th, NW Senior Theatre presents “Holiday Harmonies”, 2:00 p.m. at the Alpenrose Dairy Opera House, 6149 SW Shattuck Road, Portland.  Tickets are $5.00 each at the door.  This has been a popular event for PCC retirees in previous years.  Seating is usually first come, first served, but we have arranged to hold a row of seats for PCC retirees who RSVP by November 10th.  Tickets may be purchased at the door, but will not be assured of seating with the PCC Retiree Network group.

November 20th, Portland Art Museum, Art & Conversation, 9:15 a.m. for coffee and conversation (in the Mark Building lobby), followed by a lecture at 10:00 a.m. This month’s topic is “Hand & Wheel: Contemporary Japanese Clay”, presented by Maribeth Graybill, Ph.D., The Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Curator of Asian Art. This series is free for adults 55 and over.

Coming in December:

Dec 10th, Tea Tasting, 2:00 p.m. at Medley Café & Tea House, Multnomah Village (7881 SW Capitol Hwy).
