Portland Community College Cutting Staff, Programs, to Halt Financial Losses

Sylvania – Citing lack of state funding and increased student enrollment, Portland Community College President Preston Pulliams announced the cuts of 115 jobs among other cost-saving measures as part of the school’s budget plan.

In a district-wide letter, Pulliams cited a 20% decrease in state funding compared to a 44% growth rate during the past four years, as well as significant increases to school costs including PERS.
